AT approximately 4:26pm yesterday (May 14), Waterford Gardai were called to the Anne Street/Penrose Lane area of the city after receiving a report of a man hanging naked from a balcony. Gardaí were informed that the man was under the influence of drink/drugs and they reported that he couldn’t be communicated with as he was ‘speaking gibberish’.

After a short period the man jumped from a height of approximately 30 ft and is currently in a critical condition in UHW. The man is understood to be a Dutch national, but has lived in Ireland for some time.
