The Waterford News & Star understands that the Waterford county board will ask the delegates from the clubs of the Déise to ratify Paraic Fanning as the new manager of the Waterford senior hurlers at next Monday night’s county board meeting in Dungarvan.

The Mount Sion man previously served as a Waterford selector under Davy Fitzgerald. He also served as a Wexford selector under Davy. He also coached the Laois senior hurlers and managed WIT’s Fitzgibbon Cup team.

On the club front he managed Mount Sion to county senior glory and has also coached various club teams in several counties including James Stephens and Glenmore in Kilkenny and Bride Rovers in Cork in a coaching career that stretches back nearly 20 years.
