GARDAÍ are seeking to speak with a male van driver who gave assistance to a woman believed to be a victim of an assault.

On Tuesday morning last a woman reported an unspecified assault incident to Waterford Garda Station.

The Injured Party stated she fled from the scene of the incident on foot at around 7.15am.  She was distressed and walked down the Glen and continued down Thomas Street between The Showboat Bar and Aldi, the Glen.  A male in a white van, she thinks was a transit, stopped her and asked her was she ok.  The male driving the van was concerned for the injured party, so he asked her to get into the van which she did and he drove her home to the Ferrybank.

Gardaí are asking for the driver of this van to make contact with them in order to help them in the investigation of this crime.
