Grace O’Sullivan

THE returning officer responsible for the Ireland South European Election Count has confirmed a total recount will begin on Tuesday, meaning Waterford’s Grace O’Sullivan may need to wait until July to find out whether she will take a place at the European Parliament.

A recheck began this morning having been requested by the director of elections for Sinn Féin’s Liadh Ní Riada, who trailed the Green Party candidate by 327 votes following 18 counts this week. It is understood the full recount could take 28 working days.
