A Midsummer Night’s Dream will be staged at Curraghmore House and Gardens on June 23.

CHAPTERHOUSE Theatre Company are bringing two timeless classics to the beautiful lawns of Curraghmore House and Gardens later this summer.

Hundreds are expected to pack a picnic and head for the stunning 2,500 acre Portlaw venue and join Chapterhouse for productions of Shakespearean classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the British writer’s best-loved romantic comedy. Let yourself be whisked away on a thrilling journey to the most magical of forests and meet star-crossed lovers, playful fairies, and hilarious travelling players. Beautifully designed Elizabethan costumes, a wonderful musical score and enchanting woodland creatures come together to make this an evening of unmissable summer garden theatre. It will be staged on Sunday, June 23 from 4pm.

Following this, the wild and tempestuous love story of Wuthering Heights, set on the beautiful and mysterious Yorkshire moors, will be performed on Sunday, July 14, again at 4pm. This tale of passion and revenge has thrilled readers and audiences alike for generations and is now set to entrance Chapterhouse audiences for an evening of theatre beneath the stars. Can Catherine and Heathcliff’s love endure, or will the forces of nature tear them apart?

Those attending are welcome to bring along camp chairs, picnic tables and blankets.

Tickets will cost €20 for adults and €10 for kids, with family tickets coming to €50, and are available from, 051 855038 or on the gate on the evening. There is a 10% discount for parties of 10 or more.
