There will be two Waterford professional golfers in the field for this week’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at the wonderful Lahinch Golf Course in County Clare, which gets underway on Thursday.
Tournaneena man, Seamus Power, will be hoping to bounce back after a missed cut at the Rockett Mortage Classic in Detroit following rounds of 73 and 77. Despite this, Seamus is in 124th in the FedEx Cup Standings with the top 125 retaining their cards for next season.
Robin Dawson, in his first season as a professional, comes into this week’s Irish Open after finishing in a tie for 56th at the Italian Challenge Open on the European Tour at the weekend.
I’ve no doubt both players will have huge support from Waterford at the County Clare venue this week. A top class field has been assembled and it promises to be a great week of golf. Best of luck lads.
