UK OUTDOOR retailer, Mountain Warehouse who took over the unit in Broad Street left vacant when Sam McCauley’s closed earlier this year, officially opened on Monday, August 5. According to the retailer, their new 3000 square foot store will be selling “great value womenswear, menswear, kidswear and outdoor equipment”.
Speaking to the Waterford News & Star, Mountain Warehouse founder, Mark Neale, said they were excited to be opening in Waterford.
“We’re delighted to be opening our new Mountain Warehouse store in Waterford, and excited to share our passion for adventure and great value outdoor gear for all the family with this wonderful city,” Mark said.
For those not in the know about Mountain Warehouse, they are the largest outdoor retailer in the UK with over 250 stores nationwide, and 350 stores globally. The brand was first established in 1997 by founder Mark Neale and now serves over 4 million outdoor-loving customers a year. What sets it apart from competitors, Mark says, is that almost all its stock is exclusive to Mountain Warehouse. “By designing our own, top-quality products, and having them made to exacting standards, it ensures that customers get top-quality products at very competitive prices,” he said. “The outdoor retailer caters for an extensive range of outdoor activities, including walking, running, cycling, camping and skiing, with a wide range of equipment and clothing for the whole family. Mountain Warehouse is focused on offering a growing customer base the best gear and the best service at the best prices.”
