John Kiely was one of four Waterford trainers who had winners at Listowel today.

It was a memorable afternoon at the Listowel Harvest Racing Festival for Waterford horse trainers as they saddled no less than four of the eight winners.

This came hot on the heels of Henry de Bromhead’s win in the famous Kerry National yesterday with Poker Party at 14/1, ridden by Rachael Blackmore.

The first of the four was Getaway Katie Mai at 10/1 in the Mac Fuels Maiden for Dungarvan trainer John Queally and jockey Niall McCullagh.

Next up was another Dungarvan trained winner in the shape of the John Kiely trained Rock De Baune in the Behans Horseshoe Bar Handicap at 6/1 under TP Madden.

The Declan Queally trained Bothar Dubh, 6/1, under Sean O’Keeffe, won the Devon Inn Handicap Hurdle.

The final race of the day was the Kevin McManus Beginners Chase and it was won by the 50/1 outsider, Treacysenniscorthy, ridden by Eamon Corbett and trained by Robert Widger.

For the record the four-timer was a 27,488/1 shot….
