GARDAÍ are on the lookout for a black Audi that could be connected to three burglaries which occurred in the Dunmore Road area yesterday evening.

It was seen acting suspiciously at the time and subsequently left the Ballinakill area at speed.

Sometime between 7pm and 9.30pm a family returned to their home at Ballinakill to discover that house had been ransacked. Some cash was stolen.

Another house nearby at Hunters Wood, Ballinakill was burgled at 7.43pm. Gardaí called to the house after the alarm activated. The front door of the house was open, and the alarm was sounding. The alarm panel had been ripped from the wall. The house was ransacked and the alarm panel on the outside of the house had also been tampered with. Some jewellery was taken.

Between 7pm and 8pm another burglary occurred at Park Lane, Maypark Lane. Gardaí responded to the scene. Damage was caused to the back window of the house. It looked like it had been prised open. However, nothing seems to be missing.

Between 5.30pm and 6.15pm a house at Newrath, Ferrybank, was broken into. The alarm went off at 6.13pm and a back window was broken. It is not known if anything is missing yet.
