The Book Professor at The Book Centre
25 John Roberts Square, Waterford
CHRISTMAS is all about magic. There are few things more magical than a stack of new books and a realm of possibility within their pages.
The Book Centre, 25 John Roberts Square, has joined forces with the Waterford News & Star to offer one very lucky reader the chance to win a children’s gift package with The Book Professor worth €45.
The Book Professor will sit down with the lucky winner in The Book Centre and recommend books for them, based on their age and interests. Hot chocolate (The Book Professor’s favourite drink!) and a treat will also be included to enjoy when browsing for books. A €30 gift voucher for The Book Centre will make sure that a bag full of books will be brought home that day, in a special The Book Professor tote bag, complete with The Book Professor stylus pen and bookmark. Before the child goes home, they will receive a full list of all recommended books for their age.
Molly Kearney, Age 12, who recently met with The Book Professor said: “I loved going into The Book Centre and meeting The Book Professor. She was so nice and made talking about books fun. She asked me what I liked and really listened to me. Before I went in she had spoken to my Mum to learn about my interests and hobbies and had some books ready to recommend to me. It was great to sit down and have a hot chocolate with her. I really liked that she came with me to pick out my books as she was able to point me in the right direction based on what I told her I enjoyed reading before. I would definitely recommend my friends to do The Book Professor. Paula was really nice and so was the hot chocolate and I came away with some great books to read.”
Ali Ferguson, Age 13, was so excited when “The day finally came. Finally the most exciting part, they took out the most amazing array of books from comedy to sporty, they went through what all the books are about and I picked the ones that I think are best suited for me and what books I think I should take home. I got out my voucher that I got with my Book Professor present and went up to the counter. I had a great experience and I think that this is a great present especially coming up to Christmas. I can’t recommend this enough.”
