Drive-thru testing for Covid 19 began at Waterford GAA’s Fraher Field in Dungarvan today, in association with the HSE, Waterford City and County Council and the Defence forces.

On Twitter, the Waterford GAA county board said, “Waterford GAA are happy to facilitate the HSE at this time.”

They also made reference to a striking coincidence with today’s date and the start of its new and hopefully short term use.

“A point to note Dan Fraher purchased the venue on this day in 1912!”

Croke Park, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, LIT Gaelic Grounds, and UPMC Nowlan Park have already been established as coronavirus testing facilities, with the Cork venue the largest in the State – processing up to 1,000 people each day.

There are further test centres in Waterford at Kilcohan and the WIT Arena at Carriganore.

Remember that all tests are conducted by appointment only, with tests arranged by GP referral.
