Tramore parish priests led by Fr. Shane in the Knockenduff area on Wednesday, May 6

TRAMORE parish priests will walk through each housing estate in Tramore carrying the Blessed Sacrament and inviting people to their homes to share in a prayer or to have their homes and families blessed.

Fr. Shane spoke to the Waterford News & Star today about “how helpless” the parish priests feel having no contact with their congregration.

“We felt a sense of sadness that although there is social media and phones, people are in their homes and we made the decision to carry the Blessed Sacrament around Tramore, reaching a different area each evening. We invite people to join us on their doorsteps or from their gardens throughout the month of May.”

He continued to say “this is a way of reaching people with a blessing, that is not intrusive and people can receive a blessing for their families and their home.”

The blessing of the homes in the parish is subject to suitable weather conditions, and will continue tonight in the Love Lane and Newtown area of Tramore.
