Action from Kilcohan Park as racing returned on Saturday night for the first time since March.

Kilcohan Park – Saturday June 20th

The Declan Byrne trained and once raced Dark Trend made a triumphant return to racing sluicing up in a best of night 28.44. Getting the better of the early exchanges with Rastafari Tom ‘Dark’ cut loose in the second half of this contest streaking clear for a facile seven and a half lengths success over a slow starting Great Allstar.
Race 1, ON3 525
The Jackie Roche owned Rastafari Ryan made a successful debut making every stride a winning one in 29.13. Doing ever so well to see off a second bend challenge by Airmount Bruno ‘Rastafari’ went clean away thereafter eventually hitting the winning line seven and a half lengths clear of a running on Darbystown Nina.
Race 2, A9/A10 525
A slick starting Glenbervie Phil gave it a good go from the front but was hotly pursued throughout by Geneva Trevor. Owned and bred by Michael Meade ‘Geneva’ came with s determined late challenge and in an exciting finish ‘Geneva’ came through for a two lengths defeat of ‘Glenbervie’ in 29.32.
Race 3, A7/A8 525
The early paced pair of Tomahurra Wolf and Arrigle Beag bumped around the opening two turns. Holding the inside line however ‘Tomahurra’ soon took command of matters staying on well in the lead for a cosy three and a half lengths defeat of Dricos Choice. Time 29.25.

Race 5 A5 525
The early paced Airmount Roddick was out in front for a long way but as this standard trip contest wore on the Morgan Pender owned track newcomer Amazing Aidan began to close on the leader. Producing the superior burst of finishing pace ‘Amazing’ timing his effort to perfection came through for a length defeat of ‘Airmount’ in a career best 29.16.
Race 6, A4 525
The Pat Duggan owned Keiloge Hunter made short work of the opposition making every stride a winning one in a career best 28.70. The opposition only ever had a rear end view of ‘Keiloge’ as he dashed into an early lead over Daring Product. This order of running never altered thereafter with Keiloge’ coming home four and a half lengths clear of ‘Daring’.
Race 7, A3 525
The early paced duo of Sparta Cathy and Tomahurra Spike locked horns up front for a long period. Taking the shortest route home, the John Fitzgerald and Philip Gough owned and Philip Gough trained ‘Sparta’ stuck to her guns proving a length to lively for ‘Tomahurra’ with a fast finishing Bluehost just behind in third. Time 28.88.
Race 8, A6 525
Express Zodiac and Billis Paws left traps smartly before ‘Express’ took control of matters between the opening two bends. Rallying Song had the leader in her sights however and finishing the stronger came through in the home stretch for a length and a half win over ‘Express’ in 29.35.
Race 9, A5 525
The Zoo Members Syndicate owned and Joe Kearns trained Curley Rocky ran out a clear-cut winner from an inside draw in 28.97. Powering into an early lead over Hawks Recruit ‘Curley’ never saw another rival en route to a fluent six and a half lengths defeat of ‘Hawks’.
Race 10, A2 525
In the lucky last track newcomer Zalas Girl made a brave effort to lead all the way from Harriestown Star and the eventual winner Killenaulerocket. While she was denied racing room over the final two bends Killenaulerocket finished with a flourish up the home stretch basically outstaying ‘Zalas’ by two and a half lengths. Time: 28.96.
Going rating. .30 fast.
