POPULAR children’s playzone, Run Amuck have confirmed they will not re-open their doors again. Citing the “implications and restrictions” of COVID-19 as being an impossible obstacle to overcome, owner Dermot Doyle made the tough decision to close the doors.

In a statement issued on social media, Dermot said “we have loved every minute of serving the kids and families of Tramore, Waterford and beyond for the past 14 and a half years. Run Amuck has been the source of fun, play and many happy memories over the years. We are full of gratitude for the wonderful staff, friends and family from Day 1 in December 2005 right up to March 2020.”

The news was meant with sadness in the community, with Little Einstein’s Preschool commenting “We had great school trips here every Christmas, ye will be missed.”

Many shared memories of annual children’s parties spent in Run Amuck, which also housed Laser Blast and The Pottery Place for slightly older children.

Run Amuck follows The Butterfly Barn, who also made the decision to close during the pandemic. Both are located in Riverstown Business Park.
