RTE radio and TV presenter, Ray D’Arcy and family have been regular visitors to Waterford and Dunmore East in particular in recent years and he was batting for the Déise county again this week on his daily radio show on RTE Radio One.

“I’ve said it before but I can’t recommend the Waterford Greenway enough. We were on it again last week and every time I am on it I just love the way everybody smiles at you as you pass them and say hello, it’s so friendly.

“We stopped in Kilmeaden and got the train at the Suir Valley Railway and had a coffee……it’s just glorious.”

Great praise indeed.

In the latest JNLR figures, Ray D’Arcy had 224,000 listeners daily.

He also had lovely things to say about Dunmore East and the East Pier Fish and Chips.

The new visit Waterford ads on the radio and TV should give tourism a big boost in this county and having an advocate like Ray D’Arcy certain helps the cause too.

VisitWaterford.com has also launched a brilliant new video….watch it below…..
