“WHEN Covid-19 settles down, 2020 Fine Art grad Deirdre Frost can look forward to travelling to Joan Clancy Gallery in Mweelahorna, Ring and hanging her exhibition in a gallery space with a 280˚ panoramic view of Dungarvan Bay,” said gallery proprietor Joan Clancy.

“Deirdre, who graduated with a first class honours degree, is the recipient of several recent prizes including the Annual Exhibition Award at Joan Clancy Gallery, and we are proud that Joan and her family have supported this award for the last number of years” said Catherine Fehily, Head of CIT Crawford College of Art & Design in Cork.

Deirdre’s Degree Showcase work is rooted in a phenomenological investigation into the experience of the individual in a man-made environment and their relation to the natural through this prism.

This outstanding grad also picked up the The Lavit Gallery Student of the Year Award 2020; Sample Studios Graduate Studio Residency & Exhibition Award; the Ciarán Langford Memorial Bursary from Backwater Artists Group and the Crawford Graduate Residency in Drawing.

Joan added: “In 2014 we formalised our relationship with CIT CCAD as part of our ongoing commitment to promoting emerging talent, and we are looking forward to exhibiting Deirdre’s exciting work before the end of the year.”
