A property in Dunmore East (currently housing a Spar shop) sold at auction today for €115k above its original guide price. The property, which was part of an auction held online today, was sold for €335k in association with Palmer auctioneers having had a guide price of €220k.

Speaking to the Waterford News & Star, Guy Palmer said that he was thrilled with the outcome of the auction.

“It’s brilliant to see the commercial market take off again,” Guy said. “We had multiple bidders for this prime shop in the centre of the village and it really is a great confidence boost for the Waterford market in general.”

The bidding started at 9:20am this morning at €220k and by 10:05am it was up to €300k. By 10:08am the bidding closed at €330k and Guy said the “unit was sold and contracts exchanged online”.

NB: The tenant of the shop in question has been unaffected by the sale and business continues as usual.
