Norris’s Bar is set to reopen on August 10 next.
Well known Barrack Street bar, Norris’s has announced this evening on its social media that they will reopen on August 10.
All bars not already reopened and serving food are due to open on August 10 but that has become more and more cast in doubt in recent times as the daily level of new Covid cases continues to remain high.
In an update on the bar’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages today they said, “despite being closed for 20 weeks and with no medical evidence that empty pubs have caused the increase in Covid cases.
“The Government have made NO effort to save the pub trade. So we have decided if they do not allow REAL pubs to re-open on the 10th we will open regardless.
“Our staff have taken the Failte Safety course and we are confident we can operate in a safe manner. This may mean a meal & drinks deal.
If we have to take bookings, folk on our text service will be given priority and we will be in touch with details. PM here for details on the text service.
Stay safe and thanks for your support.”
At the time of writing all the comments underneath the post were in support of the decision and wishing the bar well with their reopening.
