An alternative water supply is now available adjacent to Faha Church as Irish Water (along with Waterford City & County Council) continues to work on improving the Faha Water Supply Scheme which cannot meet its full water demands presently.

Given the ongoing problems with supply levels, “Irish Water and Waterford City & County Council have undertaken some works to improve the situation, but further monitoring and assessment of the source is required”.

An Irish Water spokesperson added: “We will provide further updates if the situation changes and as the assessments and works on site progress. Irish Water and Waterford County Council understand the inconvenience caused when water outages occur and thank customers for their patience while we work to address this issue.”

Residents have been reminded to “continue to follow the HSE Covid-19 guidance on hand-washing”.

The spokesperson said: “Irish Water continues to work at this time with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.”

The latest updates on this restriction will be available on the supply and service section of The 24/7 Irish Water customer care helpline is 1850 278 278.
