THE HPSC has been informed of 98 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland – 35 cases are located in Kildare, 26 in Offaly, 6 in Wexford, 5 in Laois, 5 in Dublin, and 21 are spread across ten other counties (Carlow, Cavan, Donegal, Kilkenny, Limerick, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Westmeath and Wicklow).
There has not been a new case in Waterford since July 13. Our overall total is still 166.
In University Hospital Waterford at 8pm last night there were no confirmed cases and 1 suspected cases. (Many in hospital are tested as a matter of routine, not because there is a clinical suspicion of covid. They however become ‘suspected cases’ while awaiting test result. Almost all of these tests return negative.)
Elsewhere in the South East there are 180 cases in Carlow, 357 cases in Kilkenny, 237 cases in Wexford (+2) and 546 cases in Tipperary
he Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that 4 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ireland have died.
There has now been a total of 1,772 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
