FERRYBANK Post Office, which has been closed since Monday, will remain closed until at least Monday, September 7. On Monday, an update will be available as to whether the post office will re-open that week. Following a positive Covid-19 test result in a staff member, the premises will remain closed until it is safe to reopen. All payments have been transferred to the GPO on the Quay during the period of closure.
Ferrybank Post Office have issued a statement saying ” we apologise for the inconvenience but our staff and customers safety is most important to us and therefore these measures have had to be taken.”
Messages have been flooding in from the public in support of the dedicated and hard-working An Post staff, and in particular, in support of a speedy recovery for the staff member in question.
It is understood that the GPO have two staff members dedicated to customers from Ferrybank Post Office, in an attempt to reduce any delays for customers.
