Tramore Eco Group has reported the sad discovery of what is believed to be the remains of a washed up whale on a Co Waterford beach.
On their Facebook page Tramore Eco Group said they came upon a Baleen Whale washed up on Kilfarrasy Beach this afternoon.
“It is approximately 45ft in length and is decomposing. Irish Whale & Dolphin Group have been notified,” they said.
This time last year a rare Sowerby’s Beaked Whale was re floated after became stranded ashore at Baile na nGall near Helvick Head in Co Waterford, while in 2015 the remains of a killer whale washed up at Saleens.
