IN a statement released from the company today Cartamundi confirmed an outbreak of Covid-19 at their plant on the Cork Road. The statement says”

“Cartamundi Ireland has today confirmed that a number of employees have tested positive for Covid-19 in recent days. It is understood that those affected have mild or no symptoms and are recovering well at home.

The company has implemented a planned process, which includes working with the HSE to facilitate testing of the workforce, as well as determine the source of the infections. The health, safety and welfare of staff remains the company’s top priority.

The company has been in communication with all employees and is providing support as needed. It wishes those affected a speedy recovery.

The company will continue to closely monitor the situation, while following rigorous health and safety protocols implemented earlier this year in line with HSE guidance. This includes the separation of shifts and departments, the mandatory wearing of PPE, temperature checking and regular deep cleaning of workstations.”
