A FULL scale search of the River Suir was stood down this afternoon after an individual was found to be safe and well.

The search got underway this afternoon following a call to the emergency services. The Coastguard’s R117 helicopter conducted an overhead search of the River Suir. Members of Waterford Fire and Ambulance services were also present, while search and rescue boats launched to search the river. Emergency services were stationed on Rice Bridge and at the Plaza.



Thankfully, the individual concerned was found elsewhere safe and well.
