MYSTERY still shrouds the identity of the lucky Waterford winner who scooped €500,000 in Friday night’s EuroMillions draw.
The biggest Irish winners of the night were two players from Waterford and Cork, who both scooped the EuroMillions Plus top prize of half a million.
The lucky ticket holder in Waterford purchased their Quick Pick ticket in the Post Office in Cleaboy, Tycor on Wednesday, April 28.
Karen O’Sullivan, manager of Cleaboy Post Office, was delighted to hear the good news over the weekend: “We’re in quite a small community here in Cleaboy so it’s great to think that someone local is now half a million euro richer after Friday night’s draw. I have been manager here for eight years and this has been the biggest win that I’ve seen so it’s great news. It’s lovely that it was over the Bank Holiday too – I would imagine the lucky winner never expected their weekend to end up like that!”
The EuroMillions Plus numbers for the Friday 30th April draw were: 05, 08, 12, 28, 42.
The winning ticket holder is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to get in touch with the National Lottery claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prize.
Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot will now roll to an estimated €55 million.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “As Friday night’s €43,409,687 jackpot was not won, tonight’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €55 million. We are reminding players to purchase their tickets early and to continue to follow social distancing measures while doing so. Tickets can be purchased in-store, in-app or on www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm deadline tonight.”
