THIS summer WYA (Waterford Youth Arts) will bring to life the hard hitting and beautiful tragedy, William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ directed by renowned playwright Jim Nolan.

The production is a welcome return to WYA for Jim as in the past he has directed some outstanding productions, including ‘The Crucible’ (2014) and ‘Dark of the Moon’ (2010). Now he is tackling Shakespeare and the team are looking for 20 young actors and actresses to get involved and eventually put on this play outdoors in the glorious twilight.

If you or someone you know is between the ages of 14 and 19 years old, are interested in theatre and would like to get involved in something incredible this summer, why not join in WYA’s 27th annual Summer Theatre Project and spend an incredible six weeks putting on ‘Romeo and Juliet’ where you will learn to act, perform and how to put on a professional quality production.

The Summer Theatre Project kicks off on Monday, July 12, and runs until Saturday, August 21, if you are interested and would like to get involved, please send an email to [email protected] or contact the team over social media to receive an online form or by calling the WYA team at 051 979377.
