THE Lismore Deerpark Public Water Supply has been impacted by significant disinfection issues at the water treatment plant. All 1,671 users in the region of the Lismore Deerpark Water Supply area must boil their water before usage for the foreseeable future, until further notice.
Waterford County Council and Irish Water have issued a statement to say they are working to assess the situation, with a view to implementing solutions as quickly as possible.
Water must be boiled for:
- Preparation of salads and uncooked foods
- Teeth brushing
- Ice making
- Throat gargling
Irish Water and Waterford Council have asked that care be taken when bathing children to ensure that they do not swallow water. Additionally, customers are asked to prepare bottle feeds for infants with boiled water which has been allowed to cool.
