THE Helvick Head RNLI Lifeboat Station is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. As part of its anniversary celebration, the station is seeking written contributions from the general public regarding their association with the lifeboat.
According to a Helvick Head RNLI PRO Andrew Miller: “This shout-out is for stories of all kinds. No story is too small but the word limit is 500. Our goal is to publish them in some form and mark the year with a special publication but this won’t happen without your help. We want to hear all your stories. We want children and adults to write to us with an account of their personal connection with the lifeboat.”
He added: “The stories can be in the form of a poem, or an article, or a short story and they can be in English or in Irish. Irish contributions will be most welcome – ba bhreá linn scéalta nó dánta i nGaeilge a fháil. Also, if you have a photo to accompany your story that would be even better. Please include your name, address and phone number on your entry and don’t forget to include the date the memory occurred.” The stories and snaps can be emailed to: [email protected]
