FOR the second year in a row, people are being encouraged to come out and join the Brightness for Bonnie walk to remember the beautiful baby girl and raise funds for charity.

Bonnie Fox, the youngest daughter of Jenny and Mark Fox and sister of James and Evie, passed away suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep at home in Kilbarry on January 1, 2011, aged just 11 months.

“Since then our lives have never been the same, our whole world was turned upside down, we miss her every single day. When Bonnie passed away we were in lockdown due to Covid and we could only have a funeral with 10 people, so a few months on when restrictions lifted we had a walk in her memory on July 1.

“It shocked us to see how many people came and supported us, we were so very humbled by the kindness of others, we raised an amazing amount of money for First Light Charity,” Jenny said on behalf of her family.

This year, the family plan on hosting a walk again on July 1 and are asking people to walk together and remember beautiful Bonnie.

“This year we will fundraise for First Light who have been amazing to us. They offered counselling and play therapy, and we will also fundraise for Féileacáin, a charity not much heard of until you’re in a position like we are, they give memorial boxes to hospitals for bereaved parents,” Jenny explained.
