SSE Airtricity First Division
Waterford FC came from behind twice to make it four wins on the bounce in the SSE Airtricity First Division with a 4-2 win over Cobh Ramblers at the RSC tonight.
It was Tramore native Jack Larkin that gave the Cork side the lead goal on four minutes when he cut in from the right to beat Brian Murphy with a left-footed acute angled strike.
Phoenix Patterson levelled matters with his ninth league goal of the season on 34 minutes when arrowing an unstoppable right-footed strike past keeper Sean Barron from the edge of the area.
Larkin regained the lead for the visitors three minutes later when he got on the end of a Luke Desmond to beat Murphy with a downward header.
The second half was five minutes old when the Blues equalised for a second time when full back Tunmise Sobowale latched onto a headed pass from Roland Idowu to beat Barron with a daft finish.
Playing in front of a 1,283 attendance, the Blues struck the front for the first time on 78 minutes when Idowu sent over a right-wing cross that saw Louis Britton head the ball to the far corner.
Callum Stringer sealed the comeback win with a brilliant strike in second half injury time when he powered a stunning strike past Sean Barron as the Blues remain third in the table ahead of a trip to Longford next Saturday.
