Chapterhouse will stage its production of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ in the gardens of Curraghmore Estate on Saturday, June 26 (4pm).

CHAPTERHOUSE Theatre Company is delighted to be returning Curraghmore Estate as part of its 2022 open-air theatre and concert tour.

On Saturday, June 26 (4pm), take a step back in time as we meet Elizabeth Bennett and her sisters in Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’.

Whilst their interfering mother engineer’s various courtships, Elizabeth and Jane must pursue their own quest for true love. Amidst mistakes and miscommunications, can Elizabeth finally surpass her prejudices to see past the proud exterior of the enigmatic Mr Darcy?

Join family and friends for what promises to be the most splendid evening of the summer as you picnic under a beautiful summer sky and lose yourself in this unforgettable love story.

Come Sunday, July 10 (4pm), an entertaining evening for the family is guaranteed with Chapterhouse’s production of ‘Cinderella’. In an enchanted kingdom in a faraway land, magical creatures and fairy godmothers come together to tell the best loved of all fairy tales. Full of song, mirth, and joy for the summer ahead, join us on Cinderella’s journey of a lifetime to a magical ball where nearly anything is possible especially if it’s before midnight. Children old and young alike are invited to dress in their favourite fairy tale characters and join the midsummer ball dance.

And on Saturday, September 10 (5pm) Chapterhouse will stage ‘21st Century ABBA and Elton’.  For the first time in this beautiful setting outside Portlaw, audiences will experience an exhilarating evening of hit after hit, including ‘Waterloo’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Take a Chance on Me’, ‘Super Trouper’ and many, many more. And with the hits of Elton John thrown in for good measure thanks to ‘21st Century Elton’, a great end to a summer of entertainment in Curraghmore is guaranteed.

‘‘It has been two years since we have been able to come to Ireland, a place which has welcomed us so warmly and has been the highlight of our seasons for over a decade,” said Chapterhouse Producer, Richard Main.

“I am thrilled to be able to announce a visit of not only theatre but also our brand-new venture of creating the ‘Party of a Lifetime’ with some of everyone’s favourite music. I can’t wait to get started and I promise that these nights shall be the best you have had in some time.’’
