THERE’S a massive night of entertainment planned in the Theatre Royal this Saturday night, July 23 for Waterford Pride which has a number of major events planned for August of this year. Mr Congeniality, a Pride fundraiser sponsored by Kollect the local Waste collection booking engine, will feature eight contestants who will dress up in drag and do some miming to some classic and contemporary hits that are sure to have you shaking and dancing in the Theatre Royal aisles. The line up of performers is full of sublime as well as surreal local talent – Theatre Director David Hennessy, Singer Richie Hayes, Dancer Jack McGrath, Singer Glenn Murphy, Poet Wayne Power, Actor and entertainer Fatz Dunphy, Dancer Jonathan Caulfield and Pride’s own madcap man, Paul White.

The men and wannabe women will be judged by Drag sensation Mr Pussy, Actor Jamie Beamish and local Councillor Mary Roche. The night will be hosted by Niall Power and Shonagh Lyons from Beat and you can be sure there will be one or two surprises on the night as well.

The choreography and general running of the show will be managed by Jack Cunningham Productions so you can be sure that the dancers, as unaccustomed as they are to dancing in front of a live audience in a skirt, will be as polished as they can possibly be.

Tickets are available from www.theatreroyal.ie at €19.50 each and it’s going to be an unforgettable night so make sure to get yours early!
