Maudie, Rathfadden Villas, Waterford who passed away 8th July, 2022.
The family of the late Maudie Sauvage wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us throughout Maudie’s illness and following our devastating loss.  We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and well-wishers who visited our home, attended
the wake, church service and burial and who provided emotional and practical support for us at this difficult time. For those who telephoned, travelled, sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences, as well as those who made charitable donations, we are truly grateful.
A special word of thanks to the staff at Doctor O Nullain’s Surgery, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, the Stroke Unit in UHW, the Ardkeen Ward at UHW, Carroll’s Chemist, Ballybricken, the Community Intervention Team, Bluebird Care, Care Doctor, the HSE staff, Michael Power and Geraldine Power and the Palliative care Team, and to the many other people we met within the medical sector, for all your kindness and support throughout Maudie’s illness and passing. Thank you to Father Pat O Donoghue (Ireland) and Joe Duffy (USA) for visiting Maudie in her home and performing Extreme Unction. Thompsons Funeral Home
for their attention to detail and for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements.
An Garda Siochana Traffic Section for providing Maudie with a Garda escort on her final journey. Thank you to Father Chesnut, Father Mullins and Father Martin Keogh for officiating the Mass and Eoin Hennebry and Teddy Hennessy for setting up the beautiful alters in the church for Maudie’s mass and to Valerie Leahy for her beautiful singing.  To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank
everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
So easy to love, she was for me
The treasure of my life
I thank God for the precious gift
Of “Maudie” as my wife.
I never knew what loneliness
Was like till Maudie died
She’ll always be locked in my heart
Forever to abide.
I thank God for our children
And our grandchildren too
And all our great grandchildren
Who made up Maudie’s crew.
I thank God for the memories
Forever in my mind
Truly a loving mother
So caring and so kind.
I loved each hair upon your head
And the beauty of your smile
I loved the ground you walked upon
Each inch of every mile.
She taught me how to wash myself
And how to comb my hair
She taught me what true love is like
With tender loving care.
I call upon the Sacred Heart
And our holy mother too
To now fulfill the promises
that they both made to you.
To take you home directly
To Heaven up above
With “Your” late Mum and Dad and friends
Eternally to love.
Lord strengthen me this very day
And all our children too
And in the days to come dear Lord
Forever to thank you.
You’ll never be on your own Maudie
Your loving husband Eddie. xx
