POPULAR Tramore clothing shop, Redlane has announced that it will close from this Sunday. Following an almost 18 year journey from a bricks and mortar shop to a thriving online presence based in the Riverstown Business Park, owner Catherine Keighery is closing the shop entirely, effective from this Sunday.

Redlane occupied the premises on the Cross in Tramore before it moved online permanently.

She said: “Any business owner will tell you that it’s a 24/7 job, I’ve given this rewarding career 18 years of my life but I’m ready for a change. I’m eager to tackle a new set of challenges and I’m ready to find a new direction.”

Having initially created the Redlane family when her daughter was very young, it served to offer Catherine’s daughter a foundation from which to move forward into the world. Now, she has graduated from college and moved overseas and the dream is complete.

Reflecting on this, Catherine said: “Much of my grit and determination in establishing Redlane at 24 years old was founded on providing a great life for her and I’m very proud to have achieved this and now watch her make her own way in the world.”

The website will close on Sunday, October 2 and a sale has already commenced on the site. The warehouse will remain open for a number of weeks to allow customers to pop in but all remaining stock will be given to a nominated charity.

Catherine in many ways pioneered the online shopping experience and when Covid hit, while many businesses were trying hard to get an online presence up and running, many turned to Catherine for guidance as she has perfected the model over many years. Customers travelled to Tramore to shop from outside the region, brought in by the bright warmth of the Redlane shopfront.

Many customers will have vouchers, she urged people to use them before Sunday. “It’s so, so important to me that anyone who has a voucher gets to use it before we close so PLEASE check your vouchers & send a message to anyone you’ve bought vouchers for, to make sure they’ve used them up.”

Extending her gratitude to those who have entered the physical and virtual doors of Redlane over the years, Catherine said:

“Lastly, may I say how grateful I am to all of the loyal staff and customers at Redlane over the past 17 & a half years. There have been laughs, tears, joy, life moments and so much more in our little boutique at The Cross and always positivity, fun & banter online. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
