The Waterpark RFC history makers.
History was made recently as Waterpark RFC fielded its first all-girls U-10s Minis Team as they faced Kilkenny RFC in their first outing.
The group of girls, made up of players who have featured as part of the U-9s and U-10s boys and girls mixed programme, some of which only started in recent weeks played a great competitive match showcasing their skills, teamwork and scoring some fantastic tries. Most importantly, they had loads of fun!!!
The girls also went onto to play in the mixed team rugby games with their teammates directly afterwards showing their determination and resilience. Well done to our girls and thanks to parents and coaches for their support.
Waterpark RFC have a strong minis and youth section and over the last number of years Waterpark run a “Give it a Try” programme as part of the IRFU Canterbury Give it a Try programme, as the name suggests this program gives girls an opportunity to take part in a number of introduction training sessions.
Waterpark RFC is delighted and proud to announce that this programme is commencing this year in mid-April.
Waterpark RFC Minis train every Saturday 10am-11am for boys and girls from U-7 to U-12. Waterpark also have boys youth team, girls youth teams, ladies rugby and men’s rugby teams who train during the week.
