Club Déise membership is now open following on from its launch on February 24 in Dungarvan.
What a difference it would make to Waterford hurling and Waterford games in general if every supporter became a Club Déise member. This would enable Club Déise to deliver a decent cash flow to our county GAA training fund putting it up to the highly financed county teams of today.
The purpose of Club Déise membership is to provide financial support for the vast number of inter county teams: Senior, U-20, Hurling and underage hurling and football teams.
When one takes into account all the strands of modern training whether it be the managers of senior teams, the coaches, the physios, the strength and conditioning people, proper nutrition, equipment like GPS trackers, bus hire , pitch hire, meals before and after matches post training snacks one has to wonder where all this money comes from. Some will come in gate receipts, some will be grant aided but without a worthwhile sponsor such as Cognizant TQS integration and a very vibrant Club Déise (the Waterford GAA official supporters club) our county teams will find it increasingly difficult to compete at the highest level.
We can all help yes by the roar of the crowd on that big day in Thurles or elsewhere but more importantly by subscribing to Club Déise membership for as little as €30 euro and you can avail of your discounts also and prior to big games, receive team selections by text and much more.
