The public has been invited to find out more about the wide range of further education courses available in Clonmel at today’s Tipperary Education and Training Board’s (TETB) Army Barracks Campus Open Day.

Current Tipperary ETB students and staff are on site until 2pm this afternoon to answer questions about the array of full-time, part-time, certified and non-certified courses available in the town, while Tipp FM will also be broadcasting from the Army Barracks Campus at Dillon Street (Eircode: E91 FR52) during the afternoon.

The Open Day includes course talks, information stands, guided tours of the campus, as well as the opportunity to chat with staff and students.

The Army Barracks Campus is a central location for a wide range of interesting courses geared towards career development, ranging from QQI Levels 1-6.

These courses include, but are not limited to: Animal Care, Art, Beauty Therapy, Bookkeeping/Accounts/Payroll, Car Driver Theory Test Preparation, Computers/Information Technology Skills/ICDL, Culinary Skills, Childcare, Creative Writing for Beginners, Digital Photography, Get Connected with your Smartphone, Early Learning & Care (Childcare), Employment Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Hairdressing, Healthcare, Horticulture, Home Repairs & Maintenance, Numeracy Skills/Maths, Office Skills, Reading & Writing Skills, Staying Safe Online, Woodwork and many more.

People of all ages are being encouraged to visit the Open Day to find a course that fits their schedule, with courses typically running during the school year and classes running on a full-day, morning, afternoon and/or evening basis.

Further Education Coordinator at Tipperary ETB, Kathleen Grimes, is encouraging people to avail of this opportunity.

“Further Education has become an essential part of our society, where individuals have the opportunity to learn new skills, acquire knowledge, and develop themselves personally and professionally,” said Kathleen.

“Our further education campus aims to provide all of these opportunities to our students, no matter their age or background”.
