Local Notes: Golf classic, cheque presentation, RNLI fundraising committee meeting and more

Mass times in Killea Church this week are comprised of: Wednesday, March 26 - 7.30pm, Friday, March 28 - 9.30am, Sunday, March 30 - 9.30am. Mass in Carbally Church is celebrated every Sunday at 11am.
On Saturday week last the organiser of the Annual Christmas Day Swim for many years, Sharon Kelly, presented the Oesophageal Cancer Fund a cheque for €3,000 from their event at Christmas, 2024. The event bore a special significance as the swim was in beloved memory of the late Der McEnery, who was a huge supporter of OCF through the years. Sharon was joined by the McEnery family in beautiful Dunmore East to receive their donation and by a few of her helpers on the day of the swim also.
The Annual General Meeting of the Dunmore East RNLI Fundraising Branch will take place on Tuesday, Marc 25, at 7pm in the Lifeboat station. New members are always welcome to join the team so if you are interested please come along.
Coming up on Saturday, April 12, The Barony of Gaultier Rose Festival will take place with a special feature being an Easter Egg hunt for children. Under the Carbally Community Development Project, €91,860 has been given from the Community Centres Investment Fund.
Fixtures coming up include: Seniors - Friday, March 28: Stradbally v Gaultier in Stradbally grounds at 8pm; Junior A - Sunday, March 30: Gaultier v Fenor in Gaultier Grounds at 12pm; Junior B - Sunday, March 30: John Mitchels V Gaultier in John Mitchels GAA grounds at 12 pm.
The fun four person team event, the Dunmmore East Golf Classic, is just a month away now and will be based in the picturesque village of Dunmore East. Starting on Sunday, April 27 and ending on May 1, the classic will feature three superb and challenging courses: Waterford Castle Golf Club, Faithlegg Golf Club and Tramore Golf Club.
