Two bus stops removed due to safety concerns

Bus stops at Piltown and Grange have been removed by Waterford Council, following an audit completed by TII which identified the stops as being an unacceptable risk.

Speaking further on the issue, Waterford Council Director of Services for Roads, Gabriel Hynes, said: "TII carried out a review of all bus stops on the N25 and across the country. Two bus stops in Waterford have been identified as being a safety risk. Both of the locations have a speed limit of 100km/h, we have buses stopping on the hard shoulder, we have passengers crossing the road and there's no lighting there at all."
