What's on in Waterford: Film, live music, concerts and more

This April, two workplace choirs are coming together for a public performance in Waterford in what promises to be a real musical treat.
Audiences will be treated to the SETU Staff Choir and Cór Chroí Waterford HSE Staff Choir in the beautiful setting of St. Patrick’s Gateway Centre.
Special guest Adam Mernin will perform on trumpet at the concert. Admission to the concert is free, (no booking required) and there will be a collection in aid of the Healing Sounds programme.
Garter Lane have three fabulous films this April to celebrate the Japanese Film Festival 2025.
Films include 2023’s 'Cottontail', which follows a devastated Kenzaburo, following the death of his wife. Kenzaburo reluctantly agrees that his estranged son Toshi may accompany him to the other side of the world to fulfil Akiko’s final wish of having her ashes scattered in England.
'A Samurai in Time' will be screened on April 25. The film follows Kosaka Shinzaemon, a samurai preparing for a duel with a rival during the Edo period in 19th century Japan. However, a freak burst of lightning hits and transports Kosaka to a modern day jidaigeki (period film) set.
Finally on April 26, 'Ghost Cat Anzu' will be screened, which details the story of Karin as she finds herself abandoned by her father in a small Japanese town, where her grandfather, a monk, resides.

Waterford Musical Society are delighted to present their 10th Anniversary Concert, providing a look back over the last decade of hit shows, with excerpts from all of their productions such as 'Carousel', 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Evita', 'Oliver', 'South Pacific' and many more.
The show will feature the society's full ensemble as well as some well-known guest soloists, who will be returning to reprieve their original roles.
